What is a good part-time job for a student?

I am a full-time college student seeking very part-time employment. I’ve worked at places such as Wal-Mart, Mazzio’s, Dollar Tree, etc. I absolutely despise retail and fast food, and they weren’t giving me enough hours/pay anyway. I’m trying to think outside the box. Is there any job that would be more of an autonomous function instead of heavy, frontline customer service?

I may end up going back to a call center I used to work for, which seemed to be the most palatable of the jobs I’ve held so far. I have no clue anymore. I just want to be able to pay for my car.

Either a server at a restaurant that has a good amount of business, or you can try to find you a part time clerical job of some sort that doesn’t require too much of your time and energy so you can focus on school. Temp agencies may help finding that work. Some of the positions can become permanent. I know mine did. Hope this helps.

Work on campus for the university. If you are really good in a certain subject you can tutor people privately for some good cash but you better know your stuff.

Well i think the best job to work at that pays well is for the government.. even places like the hospital. You might have to volunteer first and then ask someone if they would hire you (once they know you and everything) and hope for a job as a receptionist up front in the hosptital. Or even a buisness. Car dealerships are not bad either, maybe try going to your auto agency and asking if they are hiring.. i see alot of young guys working there.

I work in retail at a clothing store and the hours suck.. i hardly get to work and ive been looking for another job all summer without any luck. My parents suggested volutneering at the hospital thinking that it might help my chances of getting hired.. im going to go with that since working at as a cars dealer is not my thing.. if i was a guy though i would definitly do it.

Call center jobs i heard are good but bad at the same time.. ive never done it but my cousin has.. i know a few other people who have also done it as well… they all quit.

If you have any talent like: playing guitar etc you can teach, or you can give private tuition to school kids.
